CalSTAT promotes activities that model and encourage family participation and partnership with educational agencies to improve education for all children. Current project activities focused specifically on building family partnerships in education include:
The California Family Participation Directory for Special Education contains contact information for families, consumers, or students who wish to participate in a variety of partnership activities to improve special education. Its purpose is also to gather information from individuals who would like to be included in the directory.
Through collaborative efforts, CalSTAT brings research-based training to schools and families, using workshops, online conferences, and meetings as described in the training and technical assistance activities. CalSTAT encourages general education, special education, and families to combine their efforts to improve education. CalSTAT also offers links to other important resources of information and agencies who work to support families and students with disabilities.
