Lesson One | Classroom rules

Guidelines will be presented for establishing and clearly communicating classroom rules for acceptable student conduct. Each guideline is reviewed in the lessons to follow.

Involve Students in the Development of the Rules

Students should be involved in the development of classroom rules. Students can be asked for their suggestions about rules that will help promote a positive learning environment, and/or a possible set of rules can be presented to the class for discussion and suggestions. When students are involved in the development of the rules, they tend to become more aware of and understand the rules better, and are more likely to adopt and adhere to them.
