Guidelines for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy in California Public Schools (2012) (3.3mb)
The purpose of Occupational therapy (OT) and Physical therapy (PT) in the public school setting is to support positive educational outcomes as described by the State of California State Performance Plan (California Department of Education 2009). Occupational therapy and physical therapy, two distinct and unique professions, work with the educational team to support a child's ability to gain access to the general education curriculum, meet state standards, make adequate yearly progress, participate in postsecondary education, and become functional independent citizens upon graduation.
Podcasts are also available on the CalSTAT Web site. Users can hear recorded conversations with experts from the field on a variety of topics featured in The Special EDge and keynote speakers from CalSTAT related training activities.
