Assessment Procedures: Monitoring progress begins with the annual analysis of disaggregated STAR data provided by DataWorks. Students are placed in intervention or core content classes based on this initial data review followed by additional assessment such as Johns Reading Inventory, San Diego Quick or Fluency. A rubric is maintained for each identified student and reviewed each trimester for progress towards academic goals. Assessment Profile information on the rubric includes writing score, math placement assessment, comprehension, and fluency.

Monitoring Progress: Assessment data is used to review program effectiveness and to determine areas of weakness or areas needing revision or support. Students who do not score Proficient or Advanced in ELA are evaluated by the Roundtable team to determine program placement and for ongoing monitoring purposes. Advisement teachers maintain a Student Assessment Profile (Rubric) for each of these students with progress reviewed each trimester. A Monitor and Assistance Plan (MAP) is developed with the parents, student and teacher. Interventions are monitored by the Advisement teacher and reviewed by Roundtable at least once per trimester.

Accomplishments: Success is both quantitative and qualitative. We have anecdotal data from parents and former students that affirms success of students in academics in high school and beyond as a result of our intervention systems. Quantitative data clearly shows the positive results of both in-school and extended day interventions.
