Partners: McKinleyville Middle School
McKinleyville is in a rural unincorperated community with an estimated population of 12,000. We have a significant local Native American population and an increasingly diverse socio–economic demographic. Our program encompasses teachers, parents, students, and community members.

Community involvement includes the following:
- Participation in RSP Information Night, which is held in August and May. These nights are aimed at parents of children with IEPs and the students; however, attendance is welcome by all parents and community members.
- Presentation of our collaboration model at various school board meetings over the years. We receive input and suggestions at those meetings.
- Attendance at Back-to-School Night and Open House. We provide literature explaining our collaborative model, as well as provide an opportunity to discuss the program with any of our teachers.
- Our PTSO is very active and involved with most school events
- A community luncheon for Thanksgiving is hosted by MMS.
