Parents and community members are very involved in Nipomo High School. The Booster Club supports all clubs and activities and has purchased small items like library books for the school to bleachers for the football stadium. The community helps out with many programs on campus such as the Agriculture program. Recently, the Nipomo Rotary built the concession stand at the football stadium. Students, parents, staff, and community members can be seen at the county fair during summer, fine art nights, drama productions, and band performances. The Renaissance program is an incentive program whereby students who have above a 3.0 grade point average or above can be in the program, but also students who raise their grade point average by .5 from one semester to the next. The community gives discounts to Renaissance card holders such as for bowling or pizza. All students must complete a total of 20 hours of community service before graduation. Students can be seen cleaning up the campus, volunteering at youth sports events, or assisting community organizations. The special education department works closely with the community to ensure that our students are included, but also that they are able to complete the service to the best of their ability. Open communication is encouraged for parents and teachers. Parents can easily contact staff through voice messages, emails, and Homelink (our school-wide online grading program).
