Accelerated Reader (AR)
Valley View Middle School uses the AR program to assess and guide reading comprehension for all students. The program helps determine a student’s reading level and monitors the student’s progress. Accelerated Reader gives all teachers information on a student’s reading level. This information can help teachers make accommodations or modifications in textbook reading for students who are reading below grade level.

Aeries Student Information System

Student records, including test scores are also accessible to teachers using the newly implemented Aeries Student Information System. Teachers take daily attendance and keep grade records in the ABI portion of the program, as well as process reports and report cards/progress reports. Students and parents have access to the teachers gradebook records (see "Homelink" below), allowing for easier communication between home and school.

Edusoft
Valley View Middle School uses Edusoft as a way to access students’ test scores. Teachers and staff are able to make plans to help students be successful and increase their scores. Teachers can also create standards-based assessments using edusofts test question bank.

School wide Assessments
At Valley View Middle School, assessments take the shape of rubrics, paper and pencil tests, projects, observations, presentations, portfolios, technology projects, and more. The math department uses department-wide assessments.

Homelink
Homelink is a component of Aeries Student Information System. Parents and students can set up password protected accounts on this web-based tool, and view updated grades, missing assignments and current homework assignments.

Questions can be emailed to the teacher with a click of the mouse. These accounts will follow the students as long as they are in the district, including high school. All Valley View teachers are utilizing this program.
