Partners: Valley View Middle School

Valley View Middle School has many community partners. The Pleasant Hill Education Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on issues regarding the schools in Pleasant Hill. Several years ago, the Chamber of Commerce, Pleasant Hill Community Foundation, and City Council adopted the middle schools. In this capacity, the Partners In Education program was developed. Students in the community are rewarded by the businesses for grades of C or higher.

The Pleasant Hill Community Foundation has awarded several grants to Valley View for program needs and equipment. We have a partnership with Chevron who has provided tutors for our students, as well as financial grants to purchase Alpha Smarts, and they have helped us with our accelerated reader program.

Our parent partners volunteer at the school in classrooms, on parent patrol, during field trips, and in our library. We have community members that come in on a daily basis and read with our students. Our local high school has provided high school tutors to help our students after school with homework.
