CalSTAT Califormnia Services for Technical Assistance and Training - Learning Center

Overview: Mt. Diablo USD

The outcomes and expectations for the institute:

  1. Institute work is part of a systemic effort to improve student outcomes and close the achievement gap by integrating systems of support at the school, district and regional levels.
  2. Institute connections support the notion that the Institute is part of a process, not an event, with the learning community encouraged and supported to stay connected over time.
  3. Conversations, in different participant groups, are threaded throughout the process and understood as central to learning.
  4. Leadership capacity and responsibility for the work of the district is built within all participating groups.
  5. Learning strands are interconnected, and need to be implemented simultaneously in an integrated fashion.

Learning strands:
Literacy, Equity, Positive Behavior, Systems, and Strategies to Enhance Group Conversations.

Facilitators:
Sharon Keating and Steve Zuieback

Keynote:
Superintendent Gary McHenry
