Overview: San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools
The following outcomes will foster sustained powerful reform across time:
improving student outcomes; building leadership and internal capacity, including site to site technical assistance; maintaining structured conversations with all stakeholders
The institute will include content such as:
- Data: collecting, discussing, and making the data relevant student achievement
- Response to Intervention (RtI): providing evidence of how the student is responding to specific interventions
- ePortfolios: the tool used to document Data and RtI
Day 1
- Introduce Systemic Change and Systems Thinking
- Introduce ePortfolios; Roundtables‹sharing from Year 1 teams
- Table discussion groups (various groupings)
- Whole group sharing
Day 2
- Regrouping
- ID resources & needs
- Introduce and work with “Workshop method”
- District and site-based action planning
- Whole-group sharing & debrief; identify needs for Technical Assistance days
Facilitators and keynote presenters will be SBCSS staff experts, trained and/or certificated in content area and systemic facilitation processes.
