Overview: San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools

The following outcomes will foster sustained powerful reform across time:
improving student outcomes; building leadership and internal capacity, including site to site technical assistance; maintaining structured conversations with all stakeholders

The institute will include content such as:

  • Data: collecting, discussing, and making the data relevant student achievement
  • Response to Intervention (RtI): providing evidence of how the student is responding to specific interventions
  • ePortfolios: the tool used to document Data and RtI

Day 1

  • Introduce Systemic Change and Systems Thinking
  • Introduce ePortfolios; Roundtables‹sharing from Year 1 teams
  • Table discussion groups (various groupings)
  • Whole group sharing

Day 2

  • Regrouping
  • ID resources & needs
  • Introduce and work with “Workshop method”
  • District and site-based action planning
  • Whole-group sharing & debrief; identify needs for Technical Assistance days

Facilitators and keynote presenters will be SBCSS staff experts, trained and/or certificated in content area and systemic facilitation processes.
