Team: San Diego SELPA

San Diego County serves over 496,000 students in 42 public school districts, over 42,000 students in charter schools, and over 850 students in non- public schools.  The host site team consists of county- wide representatives in the areas of general education, special education, and student services.  The team has coordinated conferences and trainings focused on Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtI2) for the past four years and has worked at all levels of the system to ensure research bases, best practices around RtI2 are implemented throughout the region and county.  During the 2011- 2012 school year, the host site team will be drilling down further into the components of RtI2 by focusing on co- teaching practices and behavior.
