Winter 2011

Dear Colleague,

TEACH California, the teacher recruitment website administered by the California Department of Education (CDE), has developed a “Partners” section. We want to promote the organizations/universities that are involved in teacher recruitment and provide information to our users about our partners. We would like to include your organization/university in this section. As part of the partnership, we would hope that you promote this relationship and

  1. Create a link from your website to TEACH California
  2. Print a news item in your organization’s newsletter/website about the partnership

In addition, we hope to work more closely with you. California continues to face a shortage of special education, mathematics, and science teachers, and it will take our combined efforts to alleviate the situation.  You may not be familiar with TEACH California.  Our website is designed to explain the teacher preparation process, create individualized pathways for prospective teachers, and provide financial aid information.  We have video interviews of teachers who work in different settings, samples of lesson plans, and links to important resources. In addition, we have a searchable database of teacher preparation programs and high school/community college programs that provide early teaching experiences. We have also created brochures and other outreach materials that we make available to education institutions and interested organizations for free.\

We hope you agree to become a TEACH California partner. In order to do this, we will need the following items from you:

  1. A completed form (attached file)
  2. An electronic version (jpeg) of your logo (this will just be used as an organization identifier on our website)

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at teachcalifornia@gmail.com

Sincerely,

Kris Marubayashi, Ed.D.
