CalSTAT Technical Assistance and Training

California Department of Education, Special Education Division’s special project, California Services for Technical Assistance and Training (CalSTAT) is funded through a contract with the Napa County Office of Education. CalSTAT is partially funded from federal funds, State Grants #H027A080116A. Additional federal funds are provided from a federal competitively awarded State Personnel Development Grant to California (#H323A070011) provided from the U.S. Department of Education Part D of the Individuals with Disabilities Education act (IDEA).   1. Last date to enroll:  December 31, 2011.  Last date to complete:  January 31, 2013.
  2. Last date to enroll:  December 31, 2014.  Last date to complete:  January 31, 2019.
  3. Level I credential holders can switch to the new path’s Induction Program with a transition plan developed by the special education induction program.*
  4. Individuals who hold teaching credentials issued on the basis of a bachelor’s or higher degree and a teacher preparation program that included student teaching are exempt from the subject-matter competence requirement.  The only exception to this rule are out-of-state or country prepared teachers with preliminary teaching credentials that list subject-matter competence as a renewal requirement.
